Why was SAR called out? The article said that the boy was not injured nor trapped. So if he wasn't trapped then why didn't he just reverse course out of the mine? And if he was "deep in the mine" then how did he call for help?
So many questions...
I did exactly the same thing when I was in high school - I went about a mile deep into an old mine in Mammoth (just south of Eureka). Found some pretty cool stuff -newspapers and snuff boxes from 1918. But I managed to make it out unscathed.Last edited by rockgremlin; 09-30-2020 at 08:05 AM.

I'm curious how he called for help as cell phones don't work inside mines. Unless he was caught in a pit of some type?
