Craters of the Moon (with kids)
This part of our trip to Idaho last week. Craters of the Moon is a National Monument in Idaho. It is a series of tubes and caves carved out 2,000 years ago. There is a large lava field covered in volcanic rock. Because we had little kids, and I was carrying a child carrying backpack, we could only do Indian Cave and didn't feel like we could handle the entrance to the Boy Scout Cave.
It was a good time, and a easy introduction to caving for my kids. If you are in the area, I'd strongly recommend doing Black Magic canyon (about an hour way toward Twin Falls).

Cool, do those caves go back in quite a ways?

Not really. They are nothing compared to the Nutty Puttys (which I still miss) or even Crystal Caves in Western Utah. There are bigger caves in the Craters of the Moon area (even a Native Owned set of caves nicknamed the "Mammoth Caves of the West") but these were still a lot of fun.
