I've headed out once so far and it appears that I was either too early (too warm), or the population is way down this year.
Anyone really got into 'em yet? |

| I had the same problem. I think it was due to being so dry this year. There are just not as many rabbits around this year in my opinion.... :ne_nau: |

I haven't been on a rabbit hunt yet this year (but will, soon!). But, I've been out coyote hunting quite a few times and have covered a LOT of ground out there. Drove just under 100 miles in the West Desert yesterday, in fact.
No doubt about it, the jack rabbit population is down this year, across a wide area. I can only guess at the reason(s), but drought would be my first guess.

Any coyotes DAA? My cousin just got his new Foxpro Scorpion :cool2: , we played with it at his house but didn't get a chance to try it out yet.
As for rabbits, Saw a few out driving around Ibex a week ago but not like usual. There seem to be more than normal down in the southeast corner if you feel like a 5 hour drive  |

Coyote hunting has been pretty good this year - I've killed 28 so far. Here's a picture of 4 I got on one stand - most I've ever got on one stand.
Your cousin ought to have a lot of fun with that Scorpion! I got one about a month before they went on the market and have used it a lot this year. I love being able to carry the caller in my pocket :2thumbs: .
Don't have any definite plans yet, but I DO want to take that five hour drive and get down to the SE corner next month. I'm wanting to do a three or four day combination wheeling/camping/coyote hunting trip somewhere down there before the winter is over.

| Went out by myself this morning to a spot I've found southwest of Saratoga Springs. Scared up about ten jacks, hit 3 of them. They were jumping about 100 yards away so it was tough shootin'. Numbers definitely down this year. |

We'll have to get our Wendover trip planned soon, as soon as my knee feels like walking again.
From this year....

Got out after the jack rabbits today. We slaughtered them. My Son decided he would rather go spend his Christmas money today than go rabbit hunting, so I called my buddy Mike and the two of us went. Got over 150 jack rabbits between us. Too much fun!

Nope, no footage... Our camera crapped the bed on a coyote hunt a few weeks ago, and we haven't got a new one to replace it yet :frustrated: .
