Hiked up Frary Peak on Antelope Island the weekend after Thanksgiving. We actually went out there the weekend before but were late slackers and only did Dooleys Knob which is a much smaller hike off the same trail. The Frary Peak hike the next week was pretty nice. My wife and I cruised to the top in 1 hour and 15 minutes and that was about as fast as we could do it without running. I didn't take any pictures on the way up which is odd for me but I made up for it on the way down. Since we got to the trailhead at 3pm and the trail closes at 5pm we had to haul ass. We saw about 10 other hikers total, all towards the bottom on our way up.
The very top is rocky and steep and a good last pitch. It was freezing at the peak so we did not stay long. My wife went down first because she is slower going down and I wanted to take pics. I didn't see her again until the trailhead. It was beautiful with the sun going down and all the crazy trees and shadows. Definitely a great sunset hike. I made it down after the moonrise, probably around 5:30pm after taking a nice full speed balls out running trip over rock into weeds off trail shoulder roll with photo backpack on. I was unscathed and happy about it.
I also learned that just because two buffalo have horns, doesn't mean they can't be passionate with each other (females have horns too!).
I recommend this hike for everyone. Below are pics from both weekends. |

Someday I'm going to make it up there early enough to see some of the Bighorn Sheep. |
