Again my poor grammar and white rage has made me write poorly causing you to miss my point. I’ll clarify: By all means judge people. I never said I wasn’t judging people, in fact it is one of my favorite pastimes.

What I was raging about was the fact that most of the people here were in support for Joe Horn blowing these guys away, mainly because these two guys were criminals committing a crime. My issue is with the ‘justification’ of murder just because you label these guys criminals. It is that simple reduction of the argument that pisses me off. I find it extremely ignorant. This with the total lack of regard for human life really did and still does make me sick.

My guess is that you are a Joe Horn supporter and you just wanted to poke a hole in my posts because I was ragging on you.

So I’ll beat the horse one more time: :deadhorse:
Joe Horn is a murderous a**hole because he was told about 20 times by the 911 dispatcher to not go outside. At one point he was told he could get hurt to and killing someone over property wasn’t worth it. But Joe Horn had to prove he was a badass. He was quoting Texas gun law to the dispatcher and saying, “you want to bet” as a reply to the “your going to get hurt” statement. I encourage you to listen to the 911 call, it is all over the net.

Listen people, you don’t whip out you guns to an already tense situation when there is no deadly threat to you or others. And the whole idea of shoot first and ask questions later is more about gun owners proving that they are a badass than protection. That's why I hate guns.

That is a refreshing attitude. I'm tired of hearing how it's bad to judge people, of course you do it, we all do it, it is part of the human condition.

Every single person we meet, we judge, internally, and instantly, since the beginning of time, and always. Is the person a minor/major threat to my safety? Or a new friend? A rival? A potential mate? Filthy sex partner? Business contact? My guardian angel? Or the most likely, a person neutral to me?

It's a valid point, and I'm as guilty as anyone for perpetrating that reduction, but this is what's really going, and it's just as dark as you say:

Folks are fed up. Fed up with crime, fed up with uncontrolled imigration negatively affecting their way of life, fed up with revolving door justice, fed up with tweakers snaking their petty shit and wannabes tagging what's left, and in their heart of hearts, they love Texas for passing/having laws that allow the broad use of violence in protecting themselves, and they love to hear about such violence visited upon anyone who goes looking for it.

And anyone who burgles a home know that violence is a possible result, or they are morons.

It's not a lack of regard for human life that's the driving force, it's a smug satisfaction that for once, the bad guys lost.

Hmmm, maybe your right, maybe that is a lack of regard.

Okay, but here's the thing, the 911 guy is trained to follow a certain procedure, he is just giving you advice at that point, he is not the final word on anything, and there is no scenario where he would advise you to confront criminals while armed, no matter what was going on, even if your loved one was being stomped to death on your front porch and you were on the other side of the door, shotgun in hand.

So just because that guy says it's the wrong thing to do, it may not be, depending on the situation, so you have to take what that guy says with a grain of salt.

And old Joe may be correct under current Texas law. Clearly, in most states, Joe would be in a world of hurt.

That I did, more than once, and not the snippet played ad naseum on the network news, but the entire 14 minutes. You can really feel Joes frustration in the longer version (but that's what the media does, watch the FIRST few minutes of the Rodney King vid to see how the media cherry picks its snippets).
