ok this will or should be my last post on kings peak, i just talked to someone who packed into henrys fork lake and made that base camp. is that a longer but better trail to hike?
my original plan was to hit bear lake and meet back up with the main trail 1 day later, thus i would be spreading the hike into 4 littler but enjoyable hikes vs 1 long in and 1 long out. |

just got back from Kings, we camped a little lower at Dollar lake because we were hitting Gilbert and Gunsight on Friday and then Kings on Saturday.
As far as I know the shortest way to get to Kings is up Henrys Fork and Camp near Dollar or Henrys Fork. I dont think I would go to far West of hte main trail to camp at Henrys. You can stay East (North of Dollar and East of Henrys) and save a little distance. |

| Dollar Lake is Shorter, but very, very crowded and overused. I made my base at Bear Lake one year and it was still a very easy hike. |
