I finished my brothers TFO Pro 9' 5wt rod.

Components came in a kit and the wrap is yellow with an orange trim both treated with color preserver. The rod also has a 10" mark at the hook keeper, 15" and 20" thread marks.

Was it tough to build? I'm interested in it can you give me more info on the kit? Like where did you get it? Is it worth the time?... Any helpful hints would be good. Looks real professional. :2thumbs:

Is it worth the time? Anything is worth the time if you want to take the time.

I've built a bunch of rods now and it's not difficult...if you know what you're doing. Even for a beginner it's not all that tough, the trick is getting good information before you start and taking your time. That rod took me around 6 hrs of my time to build (there is also another 24 hrs of drying time on the finish).

I can get supplies for you including certain rod blanks, I'd help you pick everything out if you want to build one. I also will build one for you, I've got a killer deal going until the end of August for anyone interested.

I used to build custom rods and it was a lot of fun to catch fish with something you built! When I moved to Utah I gave a ton of equipment of a friend.

That is a great looking rod, your brothers a lucky guy.

There are two outstanding books by Dale Clemens on custom rod building. He also used to put out a very good catalog on tools, blanks, guides etc. His phone is (610) 395-5119.

Let's do it. Let me know what you want so I can put a parts list together and give you a price.
