Anybody ever driven up to Powell Pt, Garfield Cty? I met a fellow on Saturday that told me about a road going up to the top with a 3000 ft hike to the point. I thought I had seen info in one of my books but I'm striking out.
Thanks,

A friend of mine did it in a car about three years back. He ended up blowing a radiator hose from over heating his crap car. But he described it the same that you can drive close then walk the rest of the way.
I found this on a mountain biking site:
Link Here
Powell Point is located 23 miles northeast of Bryce Canyon National Park via UT 22. If you start at Pine Lake, the out-and- back ride is 23 miles and gains 2,300 feet in elevation. That's a solid ride. Alternatively, drive 6 miles up Pine Canyon (high clearance vehicle recommended) to the trailhead atop the Table Cliff Plateau. The remaining ride is 9 miles (out-and-back) with minimal elevation gain.

| I've done it in my stock JEEP Liberty- no big deal. One of my favorite places in the state and fairly unknown. I wouldn't do it in a car though- need more clearance than that. |
