| How many pictures is this? I dont see any seams and your all on the correct perspective, well done. Im having trouble with sweeping panoramics especially when I try for ones around 270 or so degrees. |

| Thanks for the feedback walt, I think this one was only 3 pics total... I had to crop the sky out of the 2 on the right... I'm having serious trouble matching blues because my stupid D40x is auto metering on me. I hate it when my camera thinks it's smarter than me... :( Any tips? |

My Canon has an AE Lock button that allows you to lock the exposure at someplace other than the focus point. From a quick Googling it look like Nikon has the same feature. (On my XT it's a dedicated button, but I have no idea how it's managed on the D40x).
You can try metering off the sky, lock the exposure, then compose and shoot your images. You *should* get consistent colors from all of the images.
Another thing to keep in mind is that if you're using a wide angle lens, doing a stitched pano, you shouldn't use a polarizing filter. Because of the way the filter works the colors in the sky will "start over" with ever image. That sounds confusing, check this out:

I have to laught at what you labled this place, "The Compound". Is this a pro or anti term? |

lol. Not meant to be pro or anti really. Just thought it looked like some kind of sci-fi compound, which was a more fitting name for the photo for those outside of Salt Lake City/Utah.
The original label I put on the one of the SLC temple is actually "The Castle" for the same reason. Hah |

I agree with you whole heartedly...
Good stuff indeed. I also dig your takes on these overshot buildings, very cryptic...Kinda envokes how I feel when I go down there :ne_nau: |

First time I saw this building I thought it was a jail or something. I find this filter fitting for it...

| I wasn't sure on this, cuz it isn't from UT, but since there seems to be a photo from France, I guess I can get away with this. It is a house I stayed at in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico |

Great shots as usual. Great colors, is this mode IIIa? Sharp focus and dont see any noise really.
The only negative thing I can say on these is the second one you almost overexposed on the lights on the underhangs, I might have tried a stop or 2 down. Let you hang it a bit longer and I like how the it effects amibent light, really seems to soften it.
Id like to go out and do some night shots this weekend as I finally got my 50mm 1.8 lens. |
