hm, I like pics with my own shadow, some of them look really interesting like the one here I made early in the morning at White Pocket. (okay, it 's not Utah, so it's a little bit OT)

Stan, great shots of Burr Point overlook, the next time I'll go there in late Afternoon, too.
Another great overlook is Alstrom Point and the view around Lake Powell. That was one of my favorite viewpoints this year.

I started there once, with no map. After a couple wrong turns, I was going up Kelly's Grade. By the time I backtracked, it was getting too dark to go on. I'll go another time. I'd love to spend the night there and wake up to the sunrise, but I don't sleep on the ground anymore.

shadow pix are cool!

and it's most certainly on topic. the arizona strip is essentially an extension of utah, as it's entirely cut off from the rest of arizona by the colorado river :haha:

but i'd say anything colorado plateau related is happily included here

you really should try the next time you're in the Page area. It really is a wonderful place and you will like it
And normally the way to Alstrom Point is easy to find. Only the last 2 miles are a little bit thricky and you'll need HC.
Hm, an overnight stay at this viewpoint is something I wanna do in the future. And then hopefully it'll be a night with a clear bright full moon

From the "Noah's Ark Hike" outside Parowan. Terrific views from the top, some neat caves and rock formations on the way up.

Looking towards Parowan:
