Fourtcal & I met up with double moo and some other peeps for a Friday afternoon run. We pushed off at Tibble Fork reservoir. Hit a chunk of single track only a few hundred feet up the dirt road and to the right. It crossed two legs of the river and away we went into the trees. This was a pretty technical and tight run across the mtn side. It went up some steep, rocky stuff and down some hairy areas. Some of the crew left some parts on the trail and we even had some minor injuries. Its all extra points in the adventure game. :cool2: We'll see what double moo has to say and how his foot is feeling. :ne_nau:

We came out at Forest Lake (I believe) and found a guy stranded. His bike was 20 feet down the sheer cliff and pinned up against a tree upside down. :eek2: I first only saw him and was like, "where the hell is his bike?" The worse part, was that his bike was one of the heaviest (XR 650) dirt bikes on the mtn. We slowly helped him slide his bike back up the edge of the mtn. Man that was some work and we even had some rope.

Keith and I ran over the top and got some dinner at "grandma's" in Heber. On our way back we took ridge 157 from the summit and back over to Forrest lake. This was actually the best piece of single track that we had taken the whole day and I will definitely take it again. Keith and I covered about 60 miles. It was a great run for a Friday afternoon and a great start to the weekend.

I will let Keith post his photos first, he took the majority of them and did a great job. I have a few of the crashed bike. So Keith, lets see em. :popcorn:

I'm sure you stopped to pick them up and pack them out.

Sounds like fun. There's a lot of single-track up there. I'd like to get on a bike someday and check it out.

The first of my 6 "get-offs" was the only pain inducing event of the day... if you don't count sore muscles from lifting that heavy pig up again and again and again.....

It seems I'm sporting one broken toe and a few severely bruised & strained neighbors. Nothing supportive shoes won't handle! I'd post a pic but it really isn't that pleasant to view!

Best part is that I get to ride to Durango this afternoon followed by a jaunt over to Vail with a return home Tuesday evening - 1200 miles of fun on bad toes!!

Thanks for the invite and info for the site, it was good meeting you guys. Had a blast on the ride, the stories going around the office today are priceless. Sorry again to double moo (apt name) for leading us into such peril. I am ready to hit it again whenever. :2thumbs:

Yup, its all moo's fault. :lol8: Seriously though, I would take that trail again, good times. :five:

I was very impressed by your group stopping to help the guy with the motorcycle who had gone off the trail and down into the trees! It is obvious it took a lot of time, effort, and people to get this bike back up to the trail. In my experience, not everyone would stop to help. I hope people reading this account will think twice about riding on in order not to 'spoil their ride'.

I'm not exactly a humanitarian, but I did stop once to plug a flat tire on a Harley! Plus I gave the guy a bottle of water, a Power Bar, and let him use my cell phone. I wonder if riding with the sun burning directly on a bare head leads to foggy thinking?

Does it have to do with a biker stopping to pick up the pieces after Pluric's front tire blew at 140 mph?
