I am looking for an off highway camping spot for 6 guys, 3 dads and their boys hopefully with some good fishing. Anywhere about 2 hours away from the Heber Valley. We have a couple of canoes if fishing so permitted. We have been up the lake creek road to the currant creek area, but I was hoping for a change in Venue.
Thanks!

By off highway, I assume you mean something that is not a campground and away from the road?Lily Lake (the northern one near the Bear River Ranger Station), Beaver Lake, or Whitney Reservoir sounds right up your ally. Below are map links (make the scale around to see where they are).

Sometimes the roads can be a bit rough, but usually not too bad. Haven't been since moving to Colorado.
I do have good directions to Whitney Reservoir and Beaver Lake on the page below (see "getting there"):

If you are looking for something close to the highway, there is plenty of that along Highway 150. Mirror Lake, Trial Lake, and Moosehorn Lake are nice, but are organised camppgrounds and do get crowded on weekends. |
