Ok, this is me opening up a big ol' can of worms. By unanimous beerlection I am posting a thread about a potential Uutah camping/hiking/biking/fun trip for all members! I imagine a family friendly affair where kids/dogs, etc are welcome.
I foresee this thread not ending before multiple pages, but here goes.
I'd like to see a Camping trip where we can either do some Noob, or non technical canyons, and/or day hikes, and/or bike rides, then gather 'round the fire again later for food and spirits. :eat:
What do you think - Where is a good large-group primitive camping area with good trail access? and what time of year; soon before it gets too hot, or in the fall when it cools down again? Maybe there's a place that some people can go for a bike ride while others go hiking?
I keep thinking of the Southern Swell near LWH or Crack/Chute canyons, because it pretty much fulfills all of the above criteria. What are your thoughts??
Disclaimer: Even if this impromptu meeting does or does not have the UUTAH name associated with it, we will be all means practice minimal impact dispersed camping and use proper desert etiquete at all times.
Talk amongst yourselves  |

| Already got one planned for the Black Hole on June 9th -- although the 'Hole' admittedly isn't really a family hike. |

Oops - guess I better catch up on current events :lol8:
Maybe this trip will be more biased toward hiking/biking than canyons then? Or maybe some fun non-tech stuff still, who knows. It's totally wide open at this point :2thumbs: |

| I should be up for it. The Swell area sounds good. A few good semi tech canyons and regular canyons near by. For doing something in the very near future, I would suggest Zion, could stay at Mosquito Cove. Some people could do some technical canyons, some could do the near by hikes in Zion. |
