My son and a friend went out to Winnemucca NV to do some ground squirrel blastin'.
We shot some Jack Rabbits and about 600 rounds between the 3 of us.
22 magnum, 17 HMR's, and 17 M2. |

| It was pure luck that my friend and I wore the same cci shirts that day. There was a promotion if you sent them the upc label and $2.00 they would send you a shirt. While checking in at the motel a guy stopped us to give us feedback on cci primers. He thought that we worked for cci. Also some more information about the hunt. A coyote ran across the dirt road that we were traveling down, again I was too slow to get a shot off at him. That is 2 years in a row. I was suprised to see the owls on the ground. This was the second set that I spotted during the trip. I didn't know that owls burrow in the ground. |

Those are Burrowing Owls. Very common to see them around colonies of ground dwelling varmints such as ground squirrels or prarie dog towns.
