Have been parked outside Capitol Reef since Monday (now Thursday) waiting for the storm to pass so we can drive some of the back roads and hike some of the canyons. Overnight the snow finally started to stick, so we are surrounded by white stuff...a totally unexpected opportunity to photograph CR in white. This happened last year in Bryce Canyon and Zion, it was wonderful. Not sure when the back roads will be passable.

Dang it, I hate being stuck in the most beautiful place on the planet! :haha:

Enjoy it with the fresh snow and take plenty of pictures! I'd love to see Cap Reef with white stuff. :2thumbs:

Went out after lunch, snow still coming down. Drove the scenic drive and snow was blasting us. It was white all over. Back on 24 and going east, suddenly the sun is out and snow is melting fast. Out to the waterfall and turned around, almost all snow is gone. Now, I realize we only had 2-3 inches on the ground, but gone in an hour? Pictures as I get the time.

Oh yeah, I can think of worse places to be stuck.

That's the good thing about Utah. If ya don't like the weather just wait 15 minutes. :haha:
