I have an SKS that is a 7.62x39 and I love it. I would not trade it for nothing. It is cheap to shoot and accurate for the most part. I think that you will be happy with one. The SKS is a nice gun and so is the mini 30 they are both 7.62x39. Good luck I hope this helps you a little bit.

I bought a used Saiga 7.62x39 a couple of months ago. I took it to my local range and was amazed at its accuracy (I have the 20 inch barrel). Next I bought a Russian side mounted scope from a company in downtown SLC and sighted it in. Standing, I can put a nice pattern in a target at 100 yards with no problem. I also bought a 30 round magazine and even though I have fired this at top cycle rate, it has never jammed. I've also purchased ammo in bulk lots which makes it fairly cheap to shoot. My experience has been only positive.
