| plan on planning a trip to montana's absaroka/beartooth wilderness in august. anyone benn there and have any advice for routes ? i'm not a fisher (shame on me) so lakes are only for the pretty views and swimming. looking at maps the country seems pretty rugged. connecting river valleys by crossing ridges looks daunting to say the least. paln on at least 5 and more likely 7 or 8 days backcountry. usually cover 6-12 miles a day in mountains, depending on if its a hike from base camp or moving shop. |
