With her world class climbing resume and passion for teaching, Merrick is a great choice as an instructor – whether you are just starting or looking to step up your game.

Topics will include:

Footwork
Staying warm, and having fun
Reading the ice and preparing to lead
Effective ice tool placement

Where/When:
Meet at the Bent Gate Mountaineering store in Golden, CO at 7:00AM Sunday morning and then carpool to Mt Lincoln for the climbing. Plan on a long day and lots of fun!

What to Bring:
You need to supply your own climbing harness, and climbing helmet as well as appropriate clothing for spending the day at 11,000 feet on the side of a mountain playing on the ice. You need to provide your own boots, crampons, and ice tools, but some are available for use from the shop (first come, first served). Don’t forget to bring a good lunch, lots of water and some money for stopping for a celebration on the way home.

Need Gear? – If you RSVP before 7:00PM on Thursday we will do our best to hook you up with some rental gear (boots, crampons, ice tools) for the clinic.

The class is free, but you need to RSVP before 4:00PM on Friday to reserve a spot. We need a minimum of 8 participants for the class so get on the phone and get your friends to sign up.

To RSVP e-mail bentgate@bentgate.com or call the store at 303-271-9382.
