...a uutah event would be cool to do.
Yeah, we hiked 14 miles on Sid's Mountain in the Swell last weekend. At least we had one Uutahn show up. I still need to write up a TR for that hike.
I'm all for getting together up north with some more of the Uutah crew. We could just do something informal, meet up somewhere and find a few caches, grab a bite to eat, hit the strip clubs, etc. :2thumbs:
Im all for it! something like...put in a dozen or so caches in the GPS in the AM and grab a lunch after or something..or get a few up in the mountains and make a hike out of it...SL valley is FULL of caches... :2thumbs: |

| Let's make a date for this and even if it is just the 3 of us or whatever, let's do it. |

We'd love to have "novices".
Part of geocaching is just having an excuse to go outside and do something. The more the merrier! |

| I actually just made plans to go to Crystal Caves this Friday afternoon. So this week will probably not work for me. Sorry to disappoint. |

If you are a city boy chances are there is a geocache within 1/4 mile of your house....
Here is a definition of caching: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching
Here are the three main sites that I know of that list GPS Stashes
www.terraching.com
www.navicaching.com
www.geocaching.com |

Not seeing many responses to this...
If no one objects I will go ahead and list the event. I just need some input on what when and where? I prefer something in Utah or Salt Lake county.
What would prefer to do:
1- An evening hike in a canyon somewhere
2- A weekend Day hike.
3- A simple gathering at a park pavilion then we go look for nearby urban caches?
4- A walk or bike ride along an urban trail such as Jordan river parkway
5- something else (suggestions please!)
When would you like to see it take place
1- a weekday evening (what night would you prefer)
2- on a Saturday (how long do you think it should last)
Where:
1- Utah County Provo or farther South
2- Utah County Orem or farther North
3- Salt Lake county south
4- Salt lake county North
5- Somewhere else (name your preference)
Please let me know what peoples preferences are and I will submit the event to geocaching.com.
Also, I DO understand why this thread was moved here, However I have to wonder if it would have a better response if this was posted back in the geocaching forum? |

I think I would prefer a canyon hike on a weekday evening (except for tuesday bike night).
If we schedule a weekend we should make it a mini adventure like a few caches out of town (no urban caches) maybe Midway or above Heber? |
