I posted the trip report for my May '06 Dark Canyon trip back in the fall. I made up a DVD of the photos for friends' consumption, and I finally got around to putting the video onto YouTube. The itty bitty video doesn't do justice to the beauty of the place, but that's to be expected...
The video's letterboxed because I created the DVD in widescreen, progressive scan. (Next one will be in HD!)

Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed your videos! Looks like you really had a great time.
How did you make those videos? Windows Video Maker? Those zoom affects really added the feel for the movies. |

Thanks - it's fun making them, and a great way to remember trips & share them with friends and family.
I use Pinnacle Studio 10, which is buggy as hell (though getting much better with updates), but has a lot of features I really like, such as zooming and scanning, sophisticated audio editing, chroma-keying (green-screen) and so on. Plus the choice of widescreen/fullscreen, interlaced/progressive, and editing in full glorious HD. I borrowed a friend's HD camcorder for a family trip to Disney last month - looks fantastic. And the digital photos from my trip to Zion back in September should do well in HD... when I get around to it. |
