Headed up to Lake Blanche today. Left trailhead at around 2:30, back at car at 5:45. Was semi packed the entire trail. Great winter hike.

Yes but I'm cheating because I'm taking a snowshoeing class at SLCC, but the homework isn't too bad :haha:

I camped up at lake blanche last year and I don't know that I have ever been colder.

I'm thinking about doing a moonlight snowshoe, back to Blanche most likely.

nice ... good call. spendin' the night or just hiking?
looking like the fullmoon is feb2 ... iz that what you're thinkin?


skiing under the full moon is fun! even cooler with phenomenal powdah


try some photos if they'll work, perhaps on a tripod or balanced on a ski pole or rock or something.

Right now the plan is to just hike, and the earliest we could go is sunday so it won't be a full moon but damn close. I took some pictures of fireworks in the valley on the 4th of July from Granduer peak that turned out well so I'll see what I can do.

I went up to Lake Blanche sunday night. Unfortunately none of the pictures show anything, but it was definitely an unforgettable experience, with a nearly full moon.
