Has anyone been up to Desolation Lake in the past week or two? Is there much/any snow up there?
Any info would be appreciated.
THanks,

| I'm guessing there's a bunch of snow up there still. I went up to Guardsman pass last sunday, and it was still closed due to too much snow. |

So, I called the ranger district and got the scoop and figured it would be safe to go for a quick overnighter there at Desolation Lake. All is well up there. The south side of the basin where the lake sits still has a considerable amount of snow, but the trail leading up to it is all free and clear of the white stuff. The Camping and Weather was awesome. I hope to post some photos soon.
The only thing negative I have to report about it is the trail itself. The part that ambles along the side of the brook is thrashed from all the runoff.
