I have lived in Utah almost all my life. Live in Utah county now. I love to fish, hike, bike, camp, and paintball. My favorite camping spot is probably Lake Powell with my wife and kids. I recently started to flyfish and I love it, but i must admit i suck dearly at it.

We love to go camping as a family and we have a dog, does anyone know where to go that is ok with dogs. we are planning excalante area, bryce canyon, mabey zions. but at all these places we are going to have to keep the dog in our trailer, if its not too hot, while we hike. Any ideas?

I don't think dogs are allowed on most Utah National Parks trails. However in Escalante dogs are allowed in most all areas. Also the San Rafael Swell is a great place to camp and hike with Dogs. The BLM asks that you keep them away from Big Horn Sheep during mating season, but other than that there are no restrictions. Some links to certain areas dog policies:

San Rafael Swell:
Can't find it but here is info for 9-mile Canyon and Desolation Canyon, both areas run by the same office of the BLM. You can call the Price office if you want to be 100% sure.

thanks shaggy I will have to check out the san rafeal swell a little more.

I found the site from climb-utah.com, found them by searching google for hiking in bryce, i think.
We have usually gone places that you just fish and chill (uintahs, Lake powell). We have done a few hikes like little wild horse by Goblin Valley, my daughters loved it, and this year we wanted to plan more hiking/camping trips.

I used to hike alot when i was in scouts (6 or more years ago) but didn't really hike after I got married, We went to Goblin Valley and did the Little Wild Horse slot canyon and I hiked timp with my dad and brothers this summer and it kindof got me back into hiking mode. Plus i need the excersize lol.
