Anyone used any guns from Hi Point? Any opinions on them? CAL ranch is having a sale on some.

I fired my friend's Hi Point in .45, and that thing was a BRICK! It seemed to fire fine, accuracy was ok and recoil was relatively light (probably due mostly to the weight). From what I saw of that one handgun, Hi Points are probably ok for how cheap they are, but you get what you pay for.

That is exactly right, you get what you pay for. I shot a high point before purchasing my XD and my Kahr, when I shot the gun it seemed ok, but after shooting my XD or Kahr I would never purchase or want to shoot a high point again. If your looking for a gun just to scare someone or something off with this will make a loud enough bang (good luck hitting anything). The only plus is I beleive that high points still have a life time warranty, but you can get that on any gun at Imact.

I kind of figured it'd be a cheap gun. Nothing can replace my Glock, but thought it might be a fun gun to have around for the price.

I've heard the makarov 9mm you can get for around $100 and is a good gun.
