| I ended up not getting a tag this year, but I had the opportunity to take my girlfriends little brother deer hunting. On Friday evening we hiked up Green Canyon in Logan (what a hike) and spent the night. Saturday morning we got up before the sun and were out hunting all day. We ended up spotting only one buck from about 1 mile away, but we did not even try to stalk it because of how rugged the area was that the buck was in. Later that evening after returning to the farm we spotted this nice 3 point laying down in some tall grass next to the river. When we got within 20 yards of the buck it jumped and took off. Well he missed the first shot, but we ended up finding him again within ten minutes and were able to get within 15 feet of the buck for a second shot. Needless to say he made a good shot and bagged a great buck. It ended up being a 3 point @ 23in. wide. All in all we had a great time. |

Yep he was about 23 and 1/2 inches. It was a nice buck, it has also been eating hay all summer so it should be tasty.. |
