Fortycal,

Keep it, not too much has changed and everyone needs 2-3 of them.
One on the truck, one in the RV, one on the quad.

If you only have one you'll never find it, they tend to hibernate or something.

Thanks, its always cool to see your handiwork in print.

I was involved a bit on reviewing the new map. We have agreement with them regarding the Paiute Trail Guide Book.

They asked for photos and I gave them several.

I believe this map is their biggest seller. I am certain that Utah is their biggest market. About 2X any other state.

That is a beautiful picture. What kind of camera do you have, digital, 35mm etc?

The camera is an 8mp Konica-Minolta A2.

It is a mid sized camera with a lot of glass and a manual zoom.

I like the size, its a comromise between full sized SLR and the pocket cams. It shoots really good video at 30fps and 520 lines so its okay for quick vid shots. Not a replacement for a video camera though, audio is crap.

I took the shot hand held on full auto, but the camera has great manual controls.

I use Picasa to sharpen, saturate and crop most of my shots.
Its FREE and so easy its amazing. picasa.google.com

Almost every digital camera shot I have ever seen needs to be sharpened.
Most wash the image so saturation needs to be bumped up. I think this one is overdone but they liked the contrast because of the nature of the map and size they needed to print.

I always get more image than I really want so I can crop the shot. It always amazes me how a crop changes a photo.

Thanks for the info on your camera. I have been looking to upgrade and that gives me a good idea. I didn't know they had a 8mp out yet!
