Whatever you do... Avoid this trail at all costs on a Saturday! The trail is packed with people doing their "one and only hike of the year". My wife was 4 months pregnant when we last did this hike and only 7 or 8 people (out of over 100) yielded to her coming up the trail. One guy with a BYU shirt even nudged her out of his way while he was going down the trail.... I came very close to knocking his block off, but he barley noticed me yelling at him with his Ipod on.
Anyways..... once we made it to the lake all the zoobs and scouts cleared out and we had the place to ourselves.
We camped at Emerald lake and hiked down in the morning it was a great trip. I love the emerald lake area.

Wow! That is some pic.

My 67 year old father who grew up in Springville and never once climbed Timpanogos wants to do it next year. I've told him 3000' to the campground in one day, 3000' to the lake the next day, 1500' to the summit the third day and back down in two nights is the only way I'll consider it. I hope we get a scene like that when we wake up.

Sweet pics, Thats a classic hike if your from here. I love it. and by the way, that lake is why I cant have kids. That is one cold swim. The doctor told be that after the meat n tatoes being frozen for so long that he was gonna have to amputate. I have never trusted doctors since.lol
