Do these areas have any decent riding? Don't usually pass this way more than once a year, in the fall, and I'm thinking about some sort of ride/canoe combo weekend near Causey Res.

I tried to put a loop together a few years back up around Monte Cristo using some forest roads over to Dairy Ridge and then back along the highway. It was an okay ride, but there were a lot of cows up there, with the associated cow sh!t...I was thoroughly spackled by the time I finished. Looking at the maps of the area, it looks like an intrepid explorer could kill a bunch of time up there!

Don't know if you've seen this or not:

But it has some decent info on numerous trails in that area. I can't tell you whether they're good or not though.
