True Fish Story (With Pictures!!!)
This was a pretty interesting story from The Sunday Wichita Eagle
Newspaper a couple of weeks ago.
A resident in the area saw a ball bouncing around kind of strange in a
nearby pond and went to investigate. It turned out to be a flathead
catfish who had obviously tried to swallow a child's basketball which
became stuck in its mouth!!
The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive, but unable to
because the ball would always bring him back up to the surface. The
resident tried numerous times to get the ball out, but was
unsuccessful. He finally had his wife cut the ball in order to deflate
it and release the hungry catfish.
You wouldn't believe it if you didn't see the attached photos...

Either this has happened more than once, or it's old news. I saw this on the news several months ago.
Anyways, the guys an idiot. Instead of setting the stupid catfish free, he should have netted it, pulled the ball out, then filleted it and fried it up with a side of patacones and rice!! :fishing: |

| I was thinking that perhaps they have these cats trained in the south. They play catch and who knows what other sports with them? Perhaps they call it water volleyball? :lol8: Anyone else have a good name for it? |

I would have thrown a free throw with it and taken a picture.
It's mouth must only be a one way street. Or else it couldn't figure out how to let go.
I wonder how that basketball tasted after countless hours? |

What are you smokin? The only acceptable side dish for fried catfish are but not limited to: Hushpuppies, corn on the cob, coleslaw and collard greens.
