After spending the night at the Warm Springs we drove down the hill to the Bates ranch. It is very easy to spot the ranch because of its large tall trees, a little oasis in the Snake Valley. We where met by the owner and tour guide through Crystal Ball Caves, Gerald Bates. Gerald and his wife Marlene are the stewards of Crystal Ball Cave that is located right behind their ranch on Warm Spring Mountain. You can call them up and schedule a time for them to take you through the cave. (435) 693-3145 They charge $5 per person over the age of 16, there is a $20 minimum, bring cash they don’t make change. No tours on Sundays.
After a short drive and hike we were in the cave. It was very nice. The best part was all the jokes and overall funny things Mr. Bates was telling us about the cave and about himself. You enter one side of the cave and exit out the other. The tour does require a little bit of couching and maybe a little crawling, but it is easy enough for young children to go through.
After the cave we drove south to the Border Inn on the Utah/Nevada Border on Highway 6/50. From there we drove back to SLC via Delta.

No, I meant to ask Mr. Bates about where that cave was but I forgot.

I've got the A510 Powershot, a couple of years old now. My next camera will still be a Powershot. I love it, except for the lens cover not opening sometimes. |
