|
Just got off the phone with the back country desk who verified that Angel's Landing trail is closed due to a fire. It didn't sound too bad and they may have it opened soon. I hope so. I am supposed to survive Imlay this Saturday. This affects Heaps, Behunin, Imlay, Refrigerator, and other canyons and hikes. NUTZ. :frustrated: :cry1:

I just got off the phone with the backcountry desk. They informed me that the trail would not be open this weekend. We also have permits for Imlay this Friday and Saturday and she said that the only way we could do it would be to come down from the top (full Imlay). She also told me that the fire was burning down Mt. Majestic and into Refrigerator Canyon. She said that i would not want to be anywhere near the top of Refrigerator canyon. I'm not sure she understands the topography up there. in any case hope that helps.

Is there no other way than the full Imlay? There has to be a way to get from the top to the short cut route. A little help from anyone would be appreciated. I am off to buy a new topo (since I destroyed Zion one last year.) Hints prior to me looking at the topo would be nice. :naughty:

Wiggles!!?? Hahahaha... they are nothing compared to the bushwhack to the middle of the canyon... OK I'm just trying to scare you. I'm jealous, Imlay is awesome.

I second that. I'd take a jetpack to get over the bushwhack anyday.
