:2thumbs: Friday nights rain refreshed the canyon and we had a great romp and swim through Chop on Sunday. Channels were full, downclimbs were shortened and challenges were a-plenty.
My first time so it was somewhat magical after hearing so much about this canyon. The various sections were aptly named but for us I think the grim section was a little on the tame side. But it certainly tested me a couple of times but with assistance from the group I worked through them.
A few claps of thunder as we were approaching the last section of potholes and the rap. Heard later that the main fork had flashed--not sure about Chop itself.
Super day with super people: Wyoming Dave, Dave from Arizona, Todd and Ram.
Nice hike out Monday morning, sandwich at the Trailhead Cafe (where I met Rick) and home by 1:30pm.
Tired but completely satisfied.

Not from me as I forgot my camera after packing it away from the evening rain. :ne_nau: But
Photos when Todd gets back to his home turf. And I know some of them are going to be awesome. |
