I'm thinking of taking this upcoming sunday to go fish. Preferably somewhere I can wade to flyfish for the day. I might even camp overnight on Saturday.....Any suggestions within about 2 hours of SLC? I know most of the local waters, but I have not a clue what the water conditions are right now.....

Alternatively, I'm thinking of getting a float tube and going somewhere like jordanelle, but I don't really know where is a good spot to put in there....I'd love to catch some of the big smallies they've been nailing 'round there.

Lastly...I wouldn't mind getting into some grayling just to say I've caught one....any Utah waters open where I could day hike in or car camp to catch some grayling??

Hmmm...I drove by Deer Creek on Monday morning and there was quite a few people fishing the eastern bank in boats and float tubes.

I fished the west cove last year at Jordanelle from the shore. I have wanted to go back with a float tube and really get out there.

Have you ever fished on the east side where the Provo river comes in. I used to fish by boat and float tube all the time over there. You can hook up with bass over against the rocks, browns near the inlet and bows in the middle.

As for conditions check here:

if your a hiking fool you could try sand/fish/round lakes. That is a pretty tough hike for just a day trip though.
