A little help here. I am out of my realm. I am looking for a 6 man, 4 season tent for camping whenever and as an emergency shelter for the fam. My buddy loves his Cabellas tent but what else is out there??? any preferences by those in the know? :ne_nau:

I love my SpringBar. I have had it for 11 years now. I use it every year and it still looks and performs brand new. They aren't free standing so you do need to be able to drive stakes. Set up if easy and pretty fast. One person can do it in about 10 minutes.

Other than that maybe an Alaknak maybe the Cabelas isn't a bad Idea.

You could go the wall tent if you wanted.

Wall tents and the spring bar are heavy as they are made from canvas.

Kelty makes some fine tents, I have the Kelty Orb 2 tent. It is a four season tent, weighs about 10 pounds, easy to set up, and has plenty of room. As far as a six person tent I am not sure what they make you can check them out here http://www.kelty.com/Kelty/index.cfm?fuseaction=Tents.ShowThumbnail&type=tents&Capacity=6 I love my Kelty, but I also know that Cabelas has some pretty sweet tents. I think you would be satisfied with either one.
