Quote from above link, updated March 8th:
"VERNON: Half ice, half open water. The ice is not stable. The fishermen (four total) on Sunday had two fish. They were casting spinners from shore out onto the ice (25 yards) then dragging the spinners back off the ice into the open water. They said the fish were hitting the spinners just after they fell from the ice into the water, if the hit didn't come right then, it didn't come at all."
