yep, their my pics.
and the wichita mountains of oklahoma are just fantastic. it was here i had my first slot experiences. very shallow and very short, but slots. it is really a gorgeous area and it is the only thing i miss about oklahoma.

Hey Gofball,
Where was this one taken? Escalante, Swell the Roost? Be as specific as you can. Looks like the Angel Trail, that would be my guess.

offpiste - the wichita mountains national wildlife refuge is south central oklahoma. right up against fort sill and just a few miles form lawton. small in area it is, but BIG in scenery. rugged as hell, too.
james - that pic is overlooking the butler canyon complex off north wash. i was actually on the rim of the spur just west of main butler. right here - http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=12&n=4209486&e=544427&s=50&size=l&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25 - to be as exact as possible. loved it back there ! my webshots album has more pics of that hike if interested - http://community.webshots.com/user/ochiker - butler canyon I & II. |
