I liked Stefan's name much better so I renamed the canyon. It is now known as:

Constrychnine

I changed up Stefan's spelling to work more with the posion theme.

So this guy guy art, exploing slot cyns in remote utah 20 years ago, compared with classic zion. very cool. i'd love to hear more about art and others like him, exploring such areas before it became popular. it'd be nice to read any journals of theirs, if they wrote any.

thanks for a little bit o' history :thumb:

Long time listener... first time caller... Oh, sorry, wrong show.

My Beta 2cents.

With Constrychnine, if you want a shorter exit, I have 2 other options:

1) Upclimb the second canyon that comes in on the right after the confluence of Constrychnine and Slideanide. It has an exposed move or two, and is a little scrapey, but goes relatively easily. Circle around back to your car.

2) Climb out the prow on the left (LDC) right across from the second canyon that comes in on the right, staying on the left of the drainage that comes in there. That has a slab move or two, but is 4 class at the hardest, and shortens the day a fair bit. Pretty easy route finding.

Both exits avoid a bit of slogging, but miss the Arch Shane mentions.

Have Fun.

I've done this option several times and its no faster back to the trailhead because you have to hike around the head of Arscenic and its kind of rolly up on top. With careful route finding its only class 2.

The only real advantage to the prow exit is it allows you to descend Constrychnine and circle around and drop Arscenic or Slideanide. Call it the "buy one get the second for 1/2 price" route option. I'll add this option to my route description.

Welcome to the group Deserthiker and thanks for the contribution :2thumbs:

Hemlock was just a working title.
