I am looking into a river/canyoneering expedition in May or so. Does anyone have any ideas on how long it takes to float to Lake Powell? Is it possible to use a hard shell canoe in high water? I was thinking of floating to Fence and maybe do Chopslot or Neon and then float down to Lake Powell and either schedule a pick-up or hike out Coyote Gulch. If we do the Coyote Gulch hike out, we will definitely need inflatables. Anyone done this before?

A guy named Wade Christensen and three friends did it with his friends last year in May. Looks like it took them five days to go from the bridge at Highway 12 to the Crack in the Wall in Coyote Gulch. Looks like they took inflatable boats.

I don’t know these guys personally, but they run a website that you could contact them through there. wade@canyonquest.com

Check out his pics.

That website is awesome, though I wish it had more written descriptions. These guys are the kind of adventures I want to be when I grow up.
