We had another little Wendover excursion this weekend. We headed out Friday night, hit the "Seafood Extravaganza" buffet at the Rainbow Casino. Played a few games, pathetically lost our money, and in the morning killed some rabbits just south of Montello.
The hunting was pretty good. Better than I've ever seen. It wasn't quite the "swarms" that I've heard of from 8 people, but it was pretty good. There was action every 20' once we got about 100 yards from the road.
All together we probably got about 40 of the little vermin. We probably walked right past 20 of them, judging on how many we saw taking off right behind us. Some of them were holding pretty tight, and decided to blow their cover once we had passed them up.
The crew consisted of Scott, Shayne, Jared, and I. Unfortunately around 11:00 am, Jared sliced his hand open pretty bad when we were crossing the fence back to the road. We took a little visit to the Wendover Health Clinic where he recieved 8 stitches.
On the way back, we pulled off the Dugway exit and had some target shooting.
Be sure to watch the video clip also. We shot some 12 gauge slugs
It's at the bottom after the pictures. |

| Awesome video. I can't wait to head out there again. I just picked up a Marlin 917V for some long range kills. I sighted it in at the range this weekend and was very impressed to fit 7 shots inside the size of a quarter at 100 yards. Kill Zone. |
