Wow, great site! Excellent information and photos, not to mention the nice look & feel. Thanks!

I had the pleasure of meeting Iceaxe (a.k.a. The Mad Scientist) a few years back in Ray's Tavern in Green River. We had just finished Baptist Draw to Upper Chute, as I recall, and he was on his way to/from another canyon. I'm sure he won't remember me, but my claim to fame is that my wife is a cousin to Jud E., who I'm sure he knows.

A little about me: I was born in Utah but grew up in SE Idaho. I did quite a bit of hunting, fishing, hiking, backpacking, & offroading there. After being away from Utah for about 25 years, I returned and spent about seven years in the Ogden & then SLC areas. While here, I was introduced to canyoneering and whitewater kayaking, which have become the mainstay of my outdoor activity. I'm still just a triple-dub (weekend warrior/wannabe), however. I'd also like to do some more mountain biking.

I've done some class II to IV- kayaking in ID, UT, & WY. I've been lucky enough to do a few slot canyons in Escalante, Zion, and especially the Swell (Squeeze probably my favorite so far). The sad part of this tale is that I've now moved to northern New Mexico, so I'll need to drive further to reach good slot canyons. The Land of Enchantment is nice, but Utah will always have The Greatest <insert outdoor activity here> on Earth for me.

Well, thanks for letting me join. Looking forward to getting to know some of you and hopefully meeting you on the trail/river/canyon/peak, etc!

Brent

P.S. If you have two minutes to kill (not inc. download), check out this video: http://tinyurl.com/b55sz (RealPlayer file). It was my first exposure to canyoneering, several years back. I still think it's pretty cool. Please pardon the lack of helmets: we've all got our heads (and helmets) on straight since then.

Thanks. My avatar is the world's ugliest dog. See http://samugliestdog.com/
I think I like your avatar (and moniker) even better than mine, though (big fan).

Your avatar/signature/handle reminds me of something funny . Ever heard it? http://tinyurl.com/8faw2 (mpg, you may need to copy & paste the url if it comes up gibberish).

This forum isn't letting me upload files, for some reason.

Hey Brent, I remember meeting you at Ray's. You was with a pretty big group so I can't put a face with the name but I remember the meeting. I think Kevin the paramedic was also with you guys.

Hey, for some reason, the link doesn't work. I'm guessing it's "Jim Bruer's" stand up comedy where he was imitating AC/DC doing the Hokey Pokey? Great bit.

You got it! Lots of fun. I seem to be file/link challenged here. Have a great weekend!
