| We (Dad, Jasper, others) are planning to go on a Grand Canyon ride sometime this winter. I don’t know the details yet. But I know you start somewhere outside of St. George. I think it is over 100 miles until a gas stop. Must have a large enough tank. We go with friends that have big BMW’s and the others have LC4’s. Anyone else interested? I will keep you informed on this forum. We need to get planning. |

Tuweep or Toroweap is the name of this area in the canyon. This is the route that we will take for this ride. It looks to be about 180 to 200 miles round trip. It is a really cool part of the canyon that only few ever visit beacuse of its remote location. We may have to hit it later in the year than I expected due to the Mt. Trumbull pass at about 8000 ft. Which fills up with snow.

We are going down April 21st (Thursday) in the morning. Then doing the ride on the 22nd. We will ride around in St. George on the 23rd then drive home that afternoon.
It is about a 200 mile round trip with no gas stops along the way. So one would need a tank large enough for that or strap on some extra gas. Also I believe you will need a license plate on your bike. I will put my 5 gallon tank on prior to the trip. Looking forward to it! I should have some awesome photos to post after the trip.
So far 4 of us are going for sure and the total could reach 10. |
