i have been coming to zion for a while now probably not as long as a lot of you guys that live there or close to zion. but almost 700cfs, that seems pretty high to me. i remember doing orderville and the virgin was around 88cfs and it seemed to be going at a pretty good pace.

Tom Jones posted on the canyons group that the river is running very high.
Quote: Lots of monsoon action in Zion today. An afternoon set of storms
punched the N Fork of the Virgin up above 500 cfs!

| I wonder if it's just a flush flood, the spikes look like they don't last very long |

| I'll let you know about the Monsoon on Friday. I'm taking a couple Noobie groups through two canyons. Yee haw. :2thumbs: A couple of years ago, I saw the Virgin at about 9000 cfs. Now THAT was impressive. I maintain the narrows are the scarriest place in Zion during the Monsoon. |

Flash floods do tend to flush out the canyons...

Yes, that is a flashflood on the old graph....
The first blip isn't to bad.... 150 cfs, probably not a killer... second blip is 600 cfs.... that's some major water.
