Does anyone know what kind of "rock" this is... Its actually very clear and bigger than a softball. There has to be someone here who knows "rocks" I know it is not the best picture but its the best i could do at the time

It looks like ulexite bound to some other type of rock.
Is it translucent at all? And/or brittle? |

| quartz has no cleavage. that definately does have cleavage, just not the cool kind. although ulexite is generally more fibrous, i still think it is a good assumption. with out seeing it in hand sample though... it may just be a big chunk of gypsum. |

I'm gonna go with quartz also. But am not a rock expert by any means.

That's my guess as well. I've got a couple of huge chunks of gypsum that look just like that one. |

A fine specimen of Northern Leaverite...
Leave er' rite where you found it that is. Sorry, bad joke a geology freind of says that ever time he gets asked a rock question. Funny some walk off saying "a leaverite huh, cool... I'll hang on to it". :haha: |

| It is translucent and on the back side it has a green hue I cannot chip or scratch it with my finger nail... |
