| Today I had the day to myself.....no kids/husband. So I decided last minute to take the afternoon and ride out to Hanging Lake which is a very nice local hike. It was an absolutely perfect way to waste away 5 hours of my day. The ride alone from my house is 17 miles one way. Needless to say, I got my workout in and deserved every bite of homemade vanilla icecream once I got home. :haha: :2thumbs: |

| Beautiful pictures, especially the last one with the double waterfalls. The color of the lake water is almost tropical looking! |

Thank you so much! It is that same color too. I almost feel my camera didn't justify how bright the water is. You can see all the trout swimming around it's so clear. If for whatever reason, you head East on I-70, it's just a hop, skip and jump off the highway. :2thumbs: |

THANK YOU!
I wish I could have taken more but it was like Disneyland up there with all the people. There are a few other neat waterfalls in the area as well, but like I said.....traffic jam on the trails. :2thumbs: |

| Amazing photo of the lake? Is the water too cold to swim in it? I hate it when I'm near water and can't jump in :-( |

| Yes it's a very desirable lake to want to swim in however the Forest Service says it's a no go. It's a VERY highly traveled trail and many a tourists hang out on the log in the middle of the lake (which is also a no no) and feed the trout cheetos (which is a double no no)..........it's kinda sad actually. Winter is the time to go see this lake with no one around. :) Plus it's more fun to hike in in snowshoes or stablizers. |
