Headed up the Mirror Lake Highway yesterday to cure my insomnia. Driving that road early in the morning is never a good idea, I always almost hit about 5 deer. Always be on the lookout, they are almost as bad as the cows on the way down to North Wash. Snow levels are around 10,000 feet but melting fast. Mirror Lake and the Highline Trial had banks of snow blocking cars from the parking lots, but the gates were open and people were out and about, probably fishing and stuff. I hiked the Amethyst Lake trail to the beginning of the Basin before a hail/lightning storm hit! After nearly getting struck by lightning, I quickly turned around and headed back as I was planning on turning around soon anyway. Here are some pictures, more on my blog:

| Great pics, nice composition. I love that area and can't wait to get up there ( the Uintas) in August. |

| wow, thanks for the compliments... and from people who take better photo's than I do. It's back to work for me now but hopefully after my next set of days off I'll have photo's from the Teton's and/or Yellowstone. Depends on how much snow is still around up there. |

Great photos and trip report. It looks like it is time to dust off the backpack.
How were the bugs? |
