|
|
I recently finished a class from the U of U called “Digital Photography for Non-Majors”. My degree is in engineering and I took this class for fine art credit.
I got to say it was a great class and a great professor. I have owned the same digital camera for three years and this class finally forced me to learn all the features on the camera and the nuts and bolts of photography. The same class is available to non university students through the continuing education program. The professor’s name is Zuzanna Audette.
I shoot with Canon Powershot A630. It is just a standard point and shoot that has manual settings options. It’s aperture range is from F2.8 to F8.0 and shutter speeds are from 1/2500 to 15 sec.
I thought I would post all my photos here to show off my beginner skills.
I put a brief description of what the assignment was in the attachment comments.

And we have a winner! It is pyrite or fools gold. The striations and color give it away for rock geeks. Yeah two shots from Ensign one of the couple and the other of the view of the city below. I think I liked this pose better (see below).
Yeah the one of me leaning against the pole was my favorite shot of the class.

| Wow James. Your pictures are great. Are you taking this class for school, or because you have the curiosity to improve your pictures? |

It was for credit for school. But I did want to learn how to improve my pictures.

Also, out of curiousity, do you know who carved that wooden statue? Was it Petr Toth? |

Dan has some big shoes to fill. You Tanya have some big ahh… you know… shoes to fill too. I don't think I'll ever be as good as either of you two.
