You've been hearing hints and whisperings about something new coming down the bogley pipeline. Here it is, the next phase of bogley.com. We have been hard at work and this update/upgrade has taken much, much longer then I anticipated. We shifted gears during the project and decided to build a proper homepage, this wasn’t in the original scope. We always knew that the homepage should be more than just a slideshow, and the vision is finally being realized. The original plan was to simply re-skin the forum header. However, during our early brainstorming sessions we decided to jump in head first. We decided that an improved homepage would have to come with the updated forum header. It was a MUST, bogley needed it!

The new homepage will be a portal for all things bogley. It will be a place to feature trip reports in a slideshow format, embed videos and point members to additional bogley content. The trip reports link directly back to the original forum thread where members can ask questions or get in on the conversation. I am particularly excited about having a place that I can see a variety of trip reports without having to navigate all over the forum. Further, on the top right-hand side of the screen, in the “latest posts” section, you will see all of the current action happening on the forum. This gives you a bird’s eye view into the forum and the posts being made in real-time. On the left-hand side of the screen you will see a mini imagebar displaying recent photos posted by bogley members. Further, you will see banner links to bogley's proud partners, www.climb-utah.com and www.zionnational-park.com

The new forum header will match our homepage header and will also feature a new and improved imagebar, showcasing featured bogley photos. This new imagebar will be similar to our current imagebar. However, now we can display 10 images at a time and the images will also be clickable, taking you to a larger version. The homepage mini imagebar has this same enlarge function. These imagebar's provide an excellent way to navigate through all of the great bogley photos. You’ll notice that the main body of the forum, where you actually navigate, post comments and participate has not changed.

I hope you like the new look and new features. We have spent an awful lot of our time and given much thought into these improvements. We spent many late hours coding and adding all of this content to the new homepage. It has FINALLY hit the press and it feels good. Just for fun I have taken screen shots to show the evolution of this website from 2004 to 2008. From humble beginnings, to outdoor domination! A site where you can get your outdoor questions answered in minutes. I hope you've enjoyed the ride as much as I have.

Wow. Looks great. Now, we need to start having people with GPS units listing the coords of their pictures, so when we click on the pictures from the homepage, we can see exactly where they are. (Maybe for Bogley 4.0). Anyway site looks great. Good job!

Excellent work Scott, Justin and any and all others that put all of this work into this site for us addicted people.

The new format is excellent. I appreciate the clean lines, thought-out organization and overall appearance.
