Anyone here ever attended "Speedweek" or "Hot Salt" out on the Bonneville Salt Flats? If not you are missing a really good time. Here are a couple of pictures from the 2005 Speedweek.

| I'd like to take my "real camera" (aka medium format film) camera out there and shoot off about 20 rolls of those cars on the salt. When is the next event? |

I'll try and remember to post dates and a reminder when it gets closer, but Speedweeks is the end of August and Hot Salt is the end of September.
This year I watched one of the streamliners get sideways at 400 mph... scared the snot out of me. Probably really scared the driver. The next day one of the lakesters got sideways and the driver was killed when it flipped.
Land Speed Record attempts have high penalty points if you screw up.
