I know Pinecreek was done without ropes in the late 80's. The catherdral was deeper back then and a lot of people from the ZP would run down the chute on the right and then jump into the pool. I watched them do this several times. The last drop was done by using an old plank as a catwalk down canyon a ways.
All the other drops were not jumps, they were downclimbs.
