That must have been quite a while ago if Tom was still working as a seamstress at BD. I'm sure I made the comment with a smile on my face. Sorry to hear you didn't find it amusing. |

For those of you who knew what was really going on in my life, thank you for your thoughts and prayers. My daughter returned home safely today. Much sleep to catch up on now.
We've all said things we have regretted from time to time, especially when under stress. I take no offense on the day's activity, and hope others will take as little as possible. Best wishes for working things out with your daughter.

Rich does have a way of making inside jokes in front on inappropriate audiences...
And yes, I am quite a stitcher, when the mood strikes.

I must say, I've been hearing the buzz about this thread. I usually roll my eyes when I hear the words "drama" and "canyoneering", but at 1:00 a.m. I finished a project and gave it a good read.
Wow, just wow. But I've gotta say, Lee's phrase above was probably the most logical one made in this entire thread.
All this bitching about seniority. Too bad. I'm glad I don't have to check my seniority chart when I hop on a bike. |

Randi wrote: What are you trying to say Hank? That gay chubby dating is about as interesting (or more so) than Lee & Randi poop?
Not trying to start rumors, Randi, but it was you who just admitted that you weren’t in a relationship. Was Hank trying to suggest an alternative lifestyle? :naughty:
Randi wrote: You're done trying to insult me now (and my ex SP?)
How did I insult you? Or Lewis? I merely spoke the truth about my understanding of your open relationship, which was predicated on what I was told by you and Lewis and your associates at the REI ACA presentation. And I apologize - the phrase "sperm donor" is a phrase that I picked up from the Dr. Laura radio show. Sometimes she makes a lot of sense. :nono:
Randi wrote: Tsk tsk...that's classy of you.
I’ve never said I was classy - unless you’re talking about that one time I was holding a glass of Silver Oak Cabernet and remarked that it was ass-kicking. So what if I might have let out a little belch? Oh wait, you weren’t there.
No matter, I’ve been told that I am sexy, well hung, and have a great sense of humor, so that’s just as good as classy. Not sure others will agree, but I’ve had no complaints.
Randi wrote: Keep your promise for the sake of these nice Bogley folks, please.
I will certainly keep my promise as long as I see no more posts by you where you try to demean people, and I will bite my tongue when I see you post something with your suspect sweetness and false demeanor. I might throw up in my mouth a little, but we must all have our own purgatories.
Randi wrote: Sorry all ya'll for that nasty digression....
Yeahhhh, right!
Randi wrote: I should've just kept my mouth shut and not mentioned how much you annoyed me.
No, you should have just kept your mouth shut in the beginning when you tried to support Rich and all of the “holes” he has been digging himself lately, where you spewed your hateful words (i.e. unpleasant, displeasure, negativity).
Randi wrote: In all honesty, every time "we" get into it, I kind of end up feeling sorry for you toward the end. I hope you find some peace and closure to all that stuff that's still eating away at you...I really do.
What is with the fricking quoted “we”?
[Randi’s trademark – quotes around every damn phrase.]
But your words are amazing to me because they mimic mine.
I have a small poster on my office wall that reminds me of how to deal with people with who I have problems. The #1 recommendation is to imagine that the person(s) has a brain tumor and that he/she has no control over their actions or what they say.
I have imagined you and Rich with brain tumors for many years because I cannot understand how two very intelligent people like yourselves could treat people with the disrespect you have exhibited.
I am on Rich's "short list", but it is amazing how many people have made his "long list". I am reminded of a dinner that Trudy and I had with Rich in which he spouted the same kind of disdane, not only against Shane but also against Willaim Bees and others who did not conform to his teachings.
This was in 2005 and Trudy and I were naive. I don't think I need to say anymore. |

And I just want to say thanks to the mod who named this thread "Canyon Folks". Now it kinda feels all cozy like a Prarie Home Companion show. :feelgood: |

I love this thread, if only because I'm sitting here bored at work - itching to hit the road to Zion in a few hours.
Thankfully, I naively dwell in my own little niche, oblivious to all the history and bad blood between folks in this small, incestuous, competitive, ego-driven, I know-more-than-you canyoneering world. And there's something beautiful in not giving a shit about any of it. I'm in it for the fun, the journey, the thrill of the hunt, the sense of peace I get when I'm in the wild. And I enjoy everyone until they give me a reason not to...then I still try my best to enjoy them.
I think we're all students. |

Right on Courtney! :five:
Thanks for this enlightening, and beautifully poignant reminder of what's important, and the fact that we're all students...that's so TRUE. I can't wait to bask in the zen of Zion!!!!!

It's been a quiet week in Lake Bogley. A food fight broke out in the Chatterbox Cafe, with the usual grumpies bringing up events from 20 years ago...
etc.

Would you believe that my last tye-dye shirt finally got so torn to shreds that I was getting little speckles of sunburn through the various holes in it? And last weekend, a gaping hole materialized near the right shoulder. DB finally put her foot down and retired it...right to a trashcan. Another one, a brilliantly-colored one with a huge 'Steal Your Face' logo, should be arriving via USPS any day now... |
